The editing of Part 4 to the Conclusion has started!

A personal update

After a lot of extra research, reading thousands of pages of occult writings, the script of part 4 to the Conclusion of the Fall of the Cabal was finished a few weeks ago. To be able to fit it into one episode, the script has a maximum of seven pages. The hard part is to delete lots of research or just making one sentence of some huge discovery. I always hope people will watch an episode multiple times, as there is so much information in it. Each episode could fill a book, would I want to elaborate on the various topics.

Normally when the script is done, I immediately do the voice-over. But my voice has been giving me lots of troubles lately. From the beginning of December, I started to develop a nasty cough. After about 2 months it started to hinder me. If doing the voice-over of part 2 and 3 was already hard, for part 4 it was impossible. My throat hurt, my voice cracked and due to the coughing, it was impossible to keep a steady voice.

So, against all my beliefs, I went to see a doctor. Of course he couldn’t find anything, so he said I had developed asthma. I returned home with two inhalers, one with cortisone and one for acute shortness of breath. I tried them for 2 weeks. Other than more pain in my throat and an even more cracked voice, I didn’t notice any difference. So I quit one inhaler and started to do the voice-over, bit by bit. After every couple of paragraphs, when I think music will take over and you won’t notice the slight change in my voice, I stopped for a few days break.

Doing a voice-over, in my case, means I practice a paragraph, doing it the first time with mistakes, and then 2 times (at least) for real and hope it will be enough for a smooth story-telling. For part 3 I did the voice-over in one go, needing 4 hours of non-stop talking. This time, an hour was the maximum I could do.

I’m lucky to have Chaz by my side. Even though he lives on the other side of the world, he has my back. Due to the immense time difference, while I was asleep, he fixed the voice-over and make it into one smooth narrative. Now he’s asleep and I will dump hundreds of images into his mail box for the first page of editing. We work together in a really nice way. Every morning it’s like going downstairs to see if there’s a present in my inbox. It’s exciting to see what he made of the script. If he understood what I had in mind when I wrote it.

Most of the times he does, but as we both are perfectionists, we end up with lots of minuscule corrections for every paragraph. Adding the music is another interesting job. Music really makes the sentiment of the story. When adding the ‘wrong’ music, the story can become really boring. While with the ‘right’ music, you are at the edge of your seat, not even noticing half an hour already passed…

So, we are about the start this exciting process again! Let me share with you a bit of the performing of the voice-over, to include you in this part of the work.
